About the Midwife
Hi, I'm
Laura Jeffords

Hi there, I am Laura Jeffords, the midwife behind West Tennessee Midwifery.

I fell in love with the midwifery model of care during my youngest child’s pregnancy and birth, when my midwife supported not only my physical well-being but also my emotional and spiritual health. That deeply meaningful experience was both beautiful and life changing - and ultimately led me to the work I’m honored to do today.

Midwifery to me is a
calling from the Lord.

My approach is grounded and
guided by my faith.

“Let your Gentleness be Evident to all; The Lord is near.”
Philippians 4:5
The Greek word epiekes translates as gentleness, meaning 'patient, soft strength', reacting with calmness, not weakness, but self-control anchored in Christ. My desire is to provide compassionate care to all my clients that honors God's design and doing so with this verse impressed on my heart.
I was blessed to have met my husband 17 years ago at church camp. Andrew and I were married in 2014 and now have 3 silly/amazing children. When I'm not serving families through midwifery or being a doula, you’ll find me homeschooling our kids,
cooking a new recipe, or planning my next Disney trip! I love the life we have created. It is so fun and filled with joy!
